The Show Must Go On
Hollywood is still reeling from the murder of prominent publicist Ronni Chasen, who was gunned down late Monday night, after attending the "Burlesque" premiere. Chasen was promoting the film for the 2011 Academy Awards, hoping to get an Oscar nomination for the film's soundtrack. According to the Beverly Hills Police, Chasen was found with five gunshot wounds at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in her Mercedes-Benz E350 sedan, which had crashed into a light pole. Chasen was still alive when 911 was called. Witnesses say she was struggling to breath and had a bloody nose. It is still unknown if Chasen was the victim of a random shooting, an attempted robbery or carjacking or a targeted attack. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office stated that it may be some time before results of an autopsy will be released but its believed that Chasen died from loss of blood from her wounds.

According to the New York Times, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, a client of Ms. Chasen’s, are offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of her killer.
