Your above statement is true, but it doesn't apply to EB situation. A slave is not allowed to leave, you are allowed to leave time, at your free will. Its just that you chose not to leave. Visa bulletin is based on the demand for visas. An immigrant vise is ISSUED when a GC is approved, and not filed. When a person receives an I485 approval letter that means his immigrant visa was assigned to him and that an immigrant visa number was used. Same applies to consular processing. The bottom line is that unless USCIS approves a huge amount of GCs in the coming months, the DOS can't and won't make adjustments in the middle of the month. STOP THIS RUMOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I already have a house here and am not planning to buy another by putting 20% down payment. But I support this idea, because, it might take away a couple of 100 people from the queue.
Plus, such a letter is indicating to the Congress that we are ready to give the country a helping hand when she needs our help the most.
I hope you would reconsider your position.
IV is started for one cause, that is to eliminate the unfair country quota and speed up the green card process. Let us stick with that.Do not divert by introducing these kind of proposals.

Is there certain minimum "safe" numbers of days one has to stay with the sponsoring company after getting the EB Green Card.
In my case I have been working with my employer since Sept-2001 (almost 7 years). My GC labor was started in Dec 485 filed in May and GC approved June 24, 2008.
I was in the middle of changing jobs using AC21 just before my GC got approved, hence this urgency. How soon can I join some my new job ?

1) Increasing GC numbers
2) Recapturing numbers and instituting permanent Rollover mechanisms
3) Eliminate country quotas
Part 1 and 2 would help everyone from around the world. While 3 would benefit citizens of a few countries more than others, all it is saying is STOP discriminating in employment based green cards on basis of country of origin. You are not BORN with skills and neither does being born in country A make you more SKILLED than being born in country B.
If you want to see 3 as being the reason to not participate, that you are implicitly condoning discrimination against people born in certain country even though you will benefit equally from 1 and 2.
Are you suggesting that IV's efforts would increase the wait times for ROW?
What incentive does ROW have to work with IV then?

My advice to you, this forum gives members a chance to voice their problems and many members help with suggestions and experiences. IV works for relieving our problems - and if their intentions are on our side, we need to help them and not fight amongst us or them. Judge by what the administrators of this org say.

See the things behind. he made fool of every body , CNN, media, US Immigration, you and me and got a publicity which he could have not gotten by spending millions of dollars in marketing the films.
and guess what? this was for free and he is in headlines in national news paper.
I think he wanted this to happen to get publicity for this upcoming film, now see after this incedent you, me and all of us know about this forthcoming film and will be eager to watch it.

Well ... the fact remains "a capacious, larger-than-life persona who was alive yesterday is just no more today?” In matter of seconds he's gone, and nobody could have prevented it, whatsoever.
It's a deeps*** lesson that life is just so unpredictable whoever it is. We just have to live life rather than live ONLY for the very fact that life should get greened one day. I am getting a stronger messages by the way of such news that we should not be “damm” desperate/obsessed/vexed every second for not getting greened as if it were a pill to immortality. Lesson to stop worrying & 'get life' since we aren't vanished into oblivion as of yet.
ps: I am not preacher, just some random thoughts!

hi All,
Can someone give me advice on this:
I have 4 yrs Bachelors + 6.5 yrs of IT exp. i am being offered a Pre- approved labor(EB3-PD-Nov.2003), which was filed for someone with a condition-Bachelors + 4 years exp., at the time of filing.
i graduated in June 2000, so i am about 1 year short for the 2003 PD. However i did some part time work during college in India and the lawyer says if i can get exp. letter from that company on a letter head, that should suffice.
i am concerned if that India exp. during graduation will work or not.
Has anyone faced a situation like this?
the (part time exp)company was very small, can this be risky? what do you guys think?

Such companies sell pre-approved labor certificates for several thousand dollars (I have heard 20K) and use it as a means to lure employees. Their LCs have very early priority dates and H1Bs are tempted to apply for such jobs. Going into Lawsuit will not do a penny for our fate. I heard the same that Khanna lost the lawsuit > but in our case even the settlement i dont think will arise. Better do what we are doing , lets find success in what we are doing right now and spend that money in support of letter campaign . Lets evaluate the results once we are done through this process. Please be noted , that when AILA wanted to Sue to USCIS there has been lot of discussion on who could come out of shadows also since money was given out by AILA some ppl came forward i bet if its a million dollar ppl wont reach that mark.
And look at repurcussions before doing that , as ppl have already mentioned no GOVT sources will talk to us . Remember the way ppl could file EAD's was not due to AILA threatening. I dont see a basis for the case first of all , Just it caused mental tension ppl due to laziness of agency you can sue USCIS ? Then every person ever dealt with USCIS should sue them right ? COme on guys. Some ppl might jump on me but think of these issues Just saying i am up for 100$ or 200$ is not sufficient enough for Law Suit.
